Hello, I'm Yumari안녕하세요, 저는 유마리입니다

Maryland born, as a queer Korean-American raised Jewish, though now a spiritual wanderer, I use my work to give representation to others like me - POC, queer people, the neurodivergent. I share space for questions on how to build a society where we can be amongst one another as people, how we can put importance on the environment, if we can share intelligence not with the potential life outside earth, but with the life we already have here, the animals we live amongst.
I desire to tell stories that ask these questions and extensions of them.
Coming from multiple cultures and belonging to various minority circles, I am given differing perspectives on society and how our current world is constructed to divide us. This gives me more ability to form stories on identity, relationships, and socio political commentary. Having studied at George Washington Carver Center and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, I’m skilled in multiple artforms and have the ability to learn easily and openly to new ones. Through the vast variety of mediums and practices, I am capable of reaching various audiences, and only intend to reach further beyond.
My work has been featured in “The Animal Issue” (2025) of The Degenerates Collective, SAIC’s 2024 Artbash in “Dragons and Myths: An Anthology”, and two comics currently uploaded onto WebtoonCANVAS: “Retribution” and "Baeirth: Origins of Alforia".
